Custom Sundaes, Loyalty Rewards Mark Extended Celebration Salt & Straw is extending National Ice Cream Day festivities into a full week of promotions, running July 17 through July 23 across its shop locations nationwide. The centerpiece offering is the Build Your Own Pint Sundae, priced at $15. Customers can select three scoops of their choice, served in a personalized pint cup topped with fudge, whipped cream, rainbow sprinkles, and a cherry. Each sundae comes with limited-edition, themed stickers for customization, and the shop team handwrites the customer's name on the blank pint cup where the flavor name is typically printed. "Each sundae is served in a blank pint cup, with the guest's name handwritten by the shop team where the flavor name is typically noted, and is designed to be a unique opportunity for ice cream lovers to express their identity through their own custom build," according to the brand.
Rewards Program Incentive Members of Salt & Straw Rewards, the brand's membership program, will earn double loyalty points on National Ice Cream Day itself (July 19).
Year-Round Flavor Rotation Beyond the limited-time sundae, Salt & Straw's permanent and seasonal offerings remain available. The brand's lineup includes classic flavors such as Salted Malted Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and Strawberry Honey Balsamic with Black Pepper; Tacolate, an ice cream taco created in partnership with Taco Bell; and July's rotating Berries Series.
Why It Matters
For ice cream shops and dessert-focused operators, seasonal day-of-event promotions tied to customization and loyalty incentives represent a straightforward traffic-building tactic. Salt & Straw's approach—pairing a mid-range price point ($15) with perceived personalization and limited-time stickers—capitalizes on experiential value to drive transactions during peak summer demand.
