Clean Pantry Brand Enters Spray Category with Purity Focus
Marianne's, a Sacramento-based producer of third-party verified cooking oils, has launched Classic and Organic Avocado Oil Sprays, now available on Amazon and rolling out to select regional retailers nationwide.
The sprays mark the brand's first entry into the spray category, maintaining what the company positions as its core differentiator: 100% pure, third-party verified avocado oil without propellants, additives, or blends. Both varieties are Seed Oil Free Certified and earned a Clean Label Project Purity Award.
Why the Spray Format
As air fryer usage and home baking have shifted cooking patterns, spray formats have become practical pantry staples. According to the company, sprays address limitations of pour bottles—precise dosing, even coverage, and suitability for non-stick cookware where propellant residue can degrade coatings over time.
"Most avocado oils on the market look like they're 100% pure on the front of the bottle but tell a different story inside the bottle," said Marianne Adams, Heritage Director and brand namesake. "We created this product because home cooks and bakers deserve the same purity in a spray that they'd expect in a pour. No propellants, no blends, no shortcuts. A neutral, clean flavor that performs from a high-heat sear to a cake pan."
Verification and Testing Standards
Marianne's sprays undergo rigorous third-party testing for heavy metals, pesticides, plasticizers, and industrial contaminants. The brand references a 2020 University of California, Davis study that found 82% of avocado oils on the market were either rancid or adulterated, with Marianne's among only two brands tested at 100% purity.
The oil is refined using low-temperature processing and has a smoke point of 500°F, suitable for high-heat cooking and baking applications.
Pricing and Availability
Classic Avocado Oil Spray retails for $9.99; Organic Avocado Oil Spray for $11.99. Current distribution includes more than 250 H-E-B locations in Texas, Hy-Vee, Lunds & Byerlys, Metropolitan Market, and Earth Fare. Walmart.com launch is scheduled for June 2026.
Marianne's is part of the Adams Group, a fifth-generation family operation.
Why It Matters
Operators and home cooks increasingly scrutinize ingredient transparency and processing methods in cooking fats. The propellant-free spray format addresses both convenience and premium positioning—a market segment where brands can command price premiums by eliminating chemical additives. Spray oils remain a high-velocity category in foodservice and retail pantry channels.
