The Deal

Lil' Drug Store Products, Inc. (LDSP) has completed the acquisition of Navajo Incorporated's Health, Beauty and Wellness business — including Navajo's Trial and Travel division — effective Sept. 4, 2026. The transaction marks the first time in LDSP's five-decade history that the category management and distribution specialist has operated directly in the grocery and drug channels, two of the highest-ACV retail environments in consumer health and personal care.

The deal does not include Navajo's eyewear, mobile electronics, or general merchandise businesses, which Navajo will continue to own and operate independently. Navajo, founded in 1978 and headquartered in Denver, brings more than 400,000 square feet of manufacturing, display fabrication, and distribution infrastructure to the combination.

Channel Expansion

LDSP has historically anchored its model in convenience, travel, hospitality, and alternative retail — a network spanning more than 180,000 retail locations. Its strategic supplier partners include P&G, Haleon, Kenvue, Prestige Consumer Healthcare, Carmex, ChapStick, Olly, Ricola, and Alcon, among others. By absorbing Navajo's grocery and drug customer base, LDSP can now offer those brand partners shelf presence across the full brick-and-mortar retail spectrum — a meaningful TDP expansion for suppliers managing planogram space across multiple channels.

For grocery and drug retailers, the acquisition introduces LDSP's category management expertise and what the company describes as a broad supply base in trial- and travel-sized SKUs, a segment that commands premium velocity and impulse-driven turn rates at checkout and front-end fixtures. Trial and travel formats have proven resilient in scan data given their low price-point accessibility and strong household-penetration lift, particularly in food, drug, and mass accounts.

"This transaction brings Lil' Drug's more than 50 years of trial and travel expertise to grocery and drug retailers for the first time," said Chris DeWolf, President and CEO of LDSP. "That experience benefits not only our strategic suppliers but also our new retailer partners who now gain access to LDSP's broad supply base, product innovations, category and consumer insights and merchandising know-how."

What's Next

The strategic logic centers on single-source convenience for CPG suppliers navigating an increasingly fragmented retail landscape. Rather than maintaining separate distributor relationships for convenience versus grocery or drug, national health and personal care brands can now route trial-size and travel-format SKUs through a unified partner with category management capabilities across channels. That consolidation pitch is especially relevant as health and beauty categories face growing competition from private label and own-brand alternatives in grocery, putting a premium on supplier-funded in-store display and end-cap programming to defend shelf position.

Deborah Levy-Abreu, CEO of Navajo Inc., noted that the transaction is designed to extend Navajo's retailer relationships rather than disrupt them. "Lil' Drug Store Products shares our customer-first mindset, and we are confident this combination will build on our legacy while taking the business to the next level," she said.

For grocery and drug channel operators, the practical near-term question is whether LDSP's category management infrastructure can accelerate velocity on trial-and-travel sets — a perennially under-optimized section in many store formats — by applying DSD-adjacent service levels and data-driven planogram recommendations built on syndicated data across convenience and travel accounts.
