Consumer Demand Drives Seasonal Return Hiland Dairy has reintroduced its Chocolate Peanut Butter Milk flavor in early September, following sustained customer requests for the discontinued product. The limited-edition milk arrived at participating retailers across the Midwest and Texas. The Springfield, Missouri-based dairy company produced the flavor several years ago before discontinuing it. According to Sarah Carey, Hiland Dairy's marketing manager, "You asked, and we listened. We are thrilled to bring back Chocolate Peanut Butter Milk for fans who remember and love it, and for everyone who will try it for the first time. Just don't wait too long to get it, because it will be available for a limited time."

Limited Availability and New Packaging Hiland is positioning the returning flavor as a seasonal offering while supplies last, with availability varying by market and store location. The company is also releasing Halloween Egg Nog as a companion seasonal product. Both flavors debut in redesigned quart cartons. The Chocolate Peanut Butter Milk features illustrated chocolate-and-peanut-butter treats, while the Halloween Egg Nog comes in bright orange with playful ghosts and bats. The company suggests serving Chocolate Peanut Butter Milk chilled as a standalone beverage or incorporating it into milkshakes and desserts for added chocolate-peanut-butter flavor.

Why It Matters

The relaunch underscores the value of monitoring consumer feedback for discontinued SKUs, particularly seasonal offerings that can drive incremental sales without permanent inventory commitments. Retailers stocking these products face a defined promotional window to capitalize on pent-up demand.
