New Frozen Seafood Line Targets Underserved Category High Liner Foods has introduced Sea Cuisine Skillet Meals, a new line of one-pan frozen seafood dinners now available at select U.S. grocery stores. The three recipes—Mediterranean-Style Sole Pasta, Thai Red Curry Salmon, and Chili Garlic Shrimp—are designed to cook in 15 minutes and feature responsibly sourced seafood paired with vegetables and grains. "Seafood has long been underrepresented in the frozen meals aisle," said Anthony Rasetta, Chief Commercial Officer, High Liner Foods. "Sea Cuisine Skillet Meals broaden those options and make it easier than ever to enjoy restaurant-quality seafood meals at home. With today's consumers looking for options that taste great, come together quickly, and are high in protein, this innovative lineup offers all the quality and convenience they want with none of the wait."

Market Data Points to Demand According to the company, 64% of frozen meal consumers report being only somewhat satisfied with available options. Chicken and beef account for nearly 70% of the top 300 frozen multi-serve SKUs, leaving a significant gap for seafood alternatives. Circana data cited in the release shows that 45% of consumers want meals requiring no prep that cook in one dish, 75% prefer options ready in 15 minutes or less, and 41% are seeking to consume more protein. Home use testing conducted by Matrix Sciences in January 2026 found that more than 87% of participants said the Skillet Meals exceeded expectations, and 91% noted they were easy to prepare.

## Product Details Each skillet meal is a complete dinner solution: - Mediterranean-Style Sole Pasta (22g protein per serving): Wild-caught sole with penne pasta, roasted peppers, and diced tomatoes in a lemon caper sauce
- Thai Red Curry Salmon (19g protein per serving): Wild-caught salmon with snap peas, bell peppers, carrots, and brown rice in a Thai red curry sauce
- Chili Garlic Shrimp (15g protein per serving): Premium shrimp with chow mein noodles, broccoli, peppers, and carrots in a chili garlic sauce The line was first introduced at the 2026 Seafood Expo North America. Broader North American distribution is planned following the initial U.S. rollout.

Why It Matters

For operators and retailers, the introduction signals growing demand for premium frozen protein options beyond poultry and beef. As consumer preferences shift toward faster meal solutions with higher protein content, seafood-focused offerings represent an underutilized opportunity in the competitive frozen meals category.
