Australian Brand Targets Peanut Butter Format Problem Drizzy, an Australian modern food brand, is entering the U.S. market with a squeeze-bottle approach to peanut butter, starting August 24 with a nationwide launch across more than 485 Sprouts Farmers Market locations. The brand will also be available direct-to-consumer at getdrizzy.com. The product is formulated with just two ingredients—American peanuts and peanut oil—and achieves a drizzleable consistency without added sugar, palm oil, stabilizers, or emulsifiers. The format is designed to eliminate the mess traditionally associated with jar-based peanut butter. Drizzy is backed by Alexis Ohanian, co-founder of Reddit and founder of venture firm 776. The U.S. expansion marks the brand's first major step into the American market, positioning the squeeze bottle as an alternative to the standard jar format that has dominated the category for decades.
Why It Matters
Peanut butter remains one of America's largest pantry staples, and format innovation has been limited in conventional retail. A two-ingredient squeeze format with no stabilizers could appeal to operators seeking simpler ingredient labels and less-messy portion control for foodservice or retail applications, particularly in the premium segment.
