First Pennsylvania Marketplace Signals Northeast Growth Uncle Giuseppe's Marketplace is moving into Pennsylvania for the first time, announcing plans to open a new location at DeKalb Plaza in King of Prussia in late 2027. The expansion follows a second announced marketplace in Moorestown, New Jersey, at East Gate Square—both expected to launch in the same timeframe. The King of Prussia store marks a significant milestone for the specialty grocer, which currently operates 13 locations across New York and New Jersey. The Pennsylvania entry follows recent openings in Greenvale, New York (August 2026) and a planned Levittown, New York, store launching later this year. "King of Prussia and Moorestown are two markets we've been looking at for some time," said Carl DelPrete, CEO and co-founder of Uncle Giuseppe's Marketplace. "As we grow, we're careful about where we go. We look for communities where we believe our stores will be a good fit and where customers are looking for fresh, quality food and good service. We're very excited about both locations."

What to Expect Both marketplaces will feature Uncle Giuseppe's signature departments: in-store fresh mozzarella production, house-made pasta, full-service meat and seafood counters, Italian deli, scratch bakery, prepared foods, and specialty imported Italian products. The stores emphasize food preparation visible to customers—pasta shaping, mozzarella making, bread baking, and meat cutting all occur in-store daily. DelPrete emphasized the company's measured approach to expansion. "It's not about opening stores just to open stores. The location has to make sense, and we have to be confident that we can deliver the same quality and experience customers expect from Uncle Giuseppe's. That's really how we look at growth."

Hiring Underway Both locations are already recruiting staff across management, deli, bakery, meat, seafood, prepared foods, produce, grocery, and customer service roles. Applicants can view opportunities at UncleG.com/careers. Specific opening dates, hours, and grand-opening details will be announced closer to launch.

Why It Matters

Uncle Giuseppe's disciplined expansion strategy reflects confidence in the specialty grocery format at a time when fresh-focused, experience-driven stores are gaining traction in competitive Northeast markets. The Pennsylvania entry signals broader regional growth ambitions while the South Jersey Moorestown location deepens the chain's presence in a core market.
