Takis has begun removing artificial colors and TBHQ from its entire U.S. product lineup, with the transition expected to complete by the end of 2026. The reformulation includes flagship products such as Takis Fuego and Takis Blue Heat. Newer products—Takis Pix, Xtreme Lime, and Jalapeño—were developed without artificial colors from the start. Updated packaging now features a "No Artificial Colors Added" label on the front. Products are already rolling out to Walmart and other national retailers as inventory transitions. The move aligns with parent company Grupo Bimbo's broader commitment to eliminate artificial colors from its global portfolio by the end of 2026.

Why It Matters

The reformulation responds to consumer demand for cleaner labels and reflects ongoing industry pressure to replace synthetic additives with alternative colorants. Operators should expect updated ingredient declarations and may need to refresh menus or marketing materials that reference product ingredients.
