Seasonal Packaging Pushes American-Grown Story Sunset Flavor Bombs will roll out limited-edition patriotic packaging this summer to coincide with America's 250th anniversary celebration. The red, white and blue design highlights tomatoes sourced exclusively from Mastronardi greenhouses in Iowa, Michigan, Kentucky, and New York.

The packaging arrives on retail shelves in June 2026 and runs through mid-July.

Leveraging Domestic Production Mastronardi, the largest vertically integrated greenhouse produce grower in North America, is using the milestone to emphasize domestic production. "We're proud to showcase the new Flavor Bombs® packaging on the tomatoes from four influential states in the U.S.'s produce industry, and America's 250th felt like the right moment to put that on the package. These are American-grown tomatoes from our U.S. greenhouses that deserve to be celebrated," said Paul Mastronardi, President and CEO of Mastronardi Produce®.

Product Profile Flavor Bombs are Mastronardi's signature snacking tomato, grown year-round in controlled environment greenhouses. The product emphasizes sweetness and flavor intensity, positioning it for snacking, entertaining, and cooking applications.

Why It Matters

For retailers, the limited-edition packaging offers a timely seasonal merchandising angle during peak summer selling season. Patriotic packaging often drives incremental sales and trial, particularly among consumers seeking American-grown products. The six-week window creates urgency for both retail displays and consumer purchase decisions.
