Same-day delivery platform Shipt has added Sprouts Farmers Market to its retailer marketplace, giving shoppers same-day access to more than 500 natural and organic grocery locations across 25 states — a meaningful door-count expansion into the natural/specialty channel for the Target Corp.-owned delivery service.
The partnership arrives ahead of the fall and holiday selling season, when basket sizes in the natural and organic segment typically climb on demand for seasonal produce, specialty baking ingredients, and wellness staples. Sprouts operates a carefully curated assortment — organic, gluten-free, plant-based, and non-GMO SKUs alongside fresh perimeter departments — making it a high-velocity destination for health-oriented consumers whose baskets skew toward premium and specialty price points.
The Membership Play
To drive trial and new-member acquisition, Shipt is offering eligible first-time subscribers four months of membership at $0.99 per month — a steep discount from the standard $10.99 monthly rate — valid through November 7, 2026. New Sprouts shoppers also receive 50% off their first Sprouts order of $35 or more (maximum $20 savings) with code SPROUTS50. The promotional structure is a textbook acquisition funnel: a deeply discounted entry window designed to convert trial users before auto-renewing at full rate, a tactic increasingly common as delivery platforms compete for share of wallet against grocery pickup and DSD alternatives.
According to PwC's Holiday Outlook 2026, eight in ten consumers plan to adopt a budgeting strategy this season — a macro tailwind for promotional membership offers that bundle convenience with perceived value. Shipt currently reaches 80% of the U.S. population across a marketplace of more than 100 retail banners, giving Sprouts incremental digital shelf exposure without requiring the specialty grocer to build its own last-mile infrastructure.
Why Sprouts, Why Now
For Sprouts, the Shipt integration extends its omnichannel reach at a moment when the natural/specialty segment is competing harder for share against conventional banners that have expanded their organic and better-for-you assortments. Listing on a high-traffic delivery marketplace functions similarly to adding TDP in a new region — it surfaces the banner's SKU depth to shoppers who may not live near one of its 500-plus physical locations.
Katie Stratton, Chief Growth & Strategy Officer at Shipt, framed the timing around shifting fall routines and longer grocery lists. Mandy Rassi, Chief Customer Officer at Sprouts Farmers Market, noted that the partnership gives consumers "another convenient way to explore our assortment" across dietary preferences and lifestyles — language that signals the retailer is treating e-commerce as an assortment-discovery channel, not just a fulfillment layer.
Shipt is also leaning on its AI-powered shopping assistant, Ask Shipt, which can surface product recommendations based on dietary filters and suggest ingredient swaps — a feature set that maps well onto Sprouts' attribute-heavy catalog of specialty and functional food items. Features like Preferred Shopper and Shipt Kits add personalization hooks that help with retention once the introductory membership period expires.
For CPG brands distributed through Sprouts — particularly those in the natural and organic and better-for-you snacks segments — the Shipt integration represents an incremental digital discovery surface heading into one of the highest-velocity selling quarters of the year.
