Self-Expression Over Perfection PiiPER, a newly launched baking brand, debuted its inaugural product lineup at Target and Walmart on August 4, positioning itself against decades of tradition-focused competitors. The brand will expand to Kroger, Michaels, and Amazon later in August.

Market Positioning "My teenage daughter loves to bake, and I kept noticing that nothing on the shelf matched how much fun she was having with it," said Co-Founder Matthew Biggins. "The best-tasting products were either expensive or time-consuming to make from scratch, and everything else looked like it was made in 1985." The brand targets consumers seeking bakery-quality finishes at mass-retail prices. "When creating PiiPER products, one of our goals was to inspire younger generations to stop doomscrolling and get creative in the kitchen," said Director of Product Development Ashley Vickery. "The Buttercream Frosting you can eat straight from the tub, the Edible Glitter, the Color Sprays; these were all designed around the idea that the process should be as exciting as the finished product."

Why It Matters

PiiPER's launch signals retailer confidence in refreshing the baking aisle for younger demographics.

For operators and retailers, the entry reflects growing consumer interest in craft, DIY baking experiences—a category long dominated by established players. The rapid multi-retailer rollout suggests significant pre-launch demand and distribution support.
