The Launch Slate
MALK is rolling out its largest single-season product expansion, adding a high-protein refrigerated milk, two shelf-stable pantry SKUs, and a fall creamer to a portfolio that has grown from three products in 2021 to 20 today. The move signals the Austin-based alt-milk brand's intent to compete across multiple planogram sections simultaneously — refrigerated dairy alternatives, the non-refrigerated shelf-stable beverage aisle, and the fast-moving coffee creamer set — all under a single clean-label standard: zero oils, gums, natural flavors, or fillers.
Leading the slate is Whole MALK, an organic blend of coconut, cashew, soy, and pea protein delivering 12 grams of plant protein per serving, fortified with calcium, iron, and additional vitamins and minerals. Retailing at $6.99, it is available now at Whole Foods Market, Target, and Sprouts. The protein positioning is deliberate: MALK President Ryan Rouse frames 12 grams as the category's new price of entry rather than a differentiator, with the brand's clean ingredient deck as the actual point of difference in a crowded refrigerated set.
Pantry Aisle Push
The brand's new shelf-stable Coconut and Cashew MALK SKUs bring two of its most established refrigerated flavors into stock-up territory, available on Amazon at $6.99. The shelf-stable channel has become an increasingly important volume driver for alt-milk brands looking to capture pantry-loading behavior and reduce dependence on refrigerated real estate — a perennial slotting challenge for emerging brands in a set dominated by national-brand incumbents.
Rounding out the fall launch is the Cinnamon Creamer, made with real cinnamon and an organic coconut base, retailing at $6.49. It extends the Coconut-Based Creamer line MALK introduced earlier in 2026 and is available at Whole Foods Market, Target, Sprouts, Wegmans, and Publix — a retail footprint that reflects meaningful ACV gains in the conventional grocery channel. The brand's Pumpkin Spice Almond Milk and Holiday Nog are also returning for the fall-holiday seasonal window, giving retailers a seasonal story to build end-cap and in-store display programs around.
Growth Numbers and Category Standing
The launches come at a high-water mark for the brand. MALK's sales are up 29% year to date, with 46% growth specifically across traditional and mass retail — the channels where velocity and turn rate are most scrutinized by category managers. Syndicated data positions MALK as the fastest-growing brand among the top 10 refrigerated plant-based milk brands across multi-outlet, natural, and specialty channels, with 18% growth in that combined universe. The brand crossed $94 million in sales and 1.4 million units in 2025.
Beyond retail scan data, MALK has cultivated a cultural cache that is increasingly rare for a natural-channel brand at this price point. It serves as the exclusive dairy alternative partner for Erewhon's celebrity smoothie collaborations — activations with Hailey Bieber, Kendall Jenner, and Sabrina Carpenter among others — and counts Kith Treats, Coconut Cult, and Cha Cha Matcha among its brand partners. For grocery and natural channel buyers, that kind of earned brand equity translates into lower promotional spend requirements and stronger baseline velocities on shelf.
"Protein, pantry, and a coffee ritual people won't compromise on. That's time, place, and routine, covered," said Rouse. "We aren't growing just to get bigger. We're going everywhere our standard already belongs."
For dairy-alternative category managers tracking TDP expansion and velocity trends, MALK's multi-aisle play — refrigerated, shelf-stable, and creamer — represents a meaningful shift in how the brand is approaching SKU rationalization and space productivity heading into 2027 planning cycles.
