Joolies, a California-based organic date brand, has launched its Watermelon Date Sours into Costco warehouse locations across the Southeast. The new club-size 16-ounce bag is priced at $14.89 and available in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Puerto Rico. The gummy-style snack is made from organic dates and contains no added sugar, no sugar alcohols, and no artificial ingredients. The Watermelon flavor combines juicy melon with a crisp sour finish. "Getting Date Sours into Costco is a big step for us, and it means more shoppers can discover the brand in a bigger, shareable format the whole family can get excited about," said Amanda Sains-Harris, head of marketing at Joolies. "Costco members want better-for-you options that still deliver on flavor, and our new club-size Date Sours Watermelon bag gives them exactly that." Date Sours debuted earlier this year as a snack option. Additional Costco rollouts are expected through the remainder of 2026. Joolies products are currently available in more than 12,000 retail locations nationwide.
Why It Matters
For operators and retailers, the Costco placement signals growing mainstream acceptance of whole-fruit gummy alternatives in the competitive better-for-you snack category. The club-size format and regional strategy indicate how CPG brands are testing larger-format, shareable options to meet warehouse shopper preferences.
