Wider Packaging Targets Growing Demand for Substantial Grab-and-Go Meals

Inline Plastics has introduced the TS3SW, a wide-format sandwich wedge container designed to accommodate larger artisan sandwiches and premium deli items that don't fit comfortably in standard packaging.

The Shelton, Connecticut-based manufacturer says the new container addresses a recurring operator challenge: when oversized sandwiches are forced into undersized containers, presentation suffers, ingredients shift, and removal becomes difficult—all before the customer's first bite.

Design Solves Multiple Operator Pain Points

The TS3SW gives products room to fit naturally while maintaining shape and shelf appeal. The container's design allows sandwiches to sit higher within the package, making products easier to extract once opened.

Tamper-evident and leak-resistant seals protect product integrity from preparation through purchase. The crystal-clear PET construction—made with 10% post-consumer recycled content—allows consumers to quickly assess ingredient quality and portion size.

Inline Plastics notes the wider format also addresses sustainability goals without requiring operators to change production workflows.

Why It Matters

As grab-and-go segments expand and consumers increasingly seek premium, substantial offerings, packaging design directly impacts both product presentation and operational efficiency. The TS3SW targets operators managing the balance between premium positioning and practical merchandising constraints—a growing consideration as deli and prepared-food segments compete for convenience-focused dollars.
