Award-Winning Nostalgia in Cookie Form The Graceful Cookie Co.'s Strawberry Milkshake Cookie has won the "Most Innovative New Product Award" in the baked goods category at the 2026 Sweets & Snacks Expo, competing against 500 other entries. The Vallejo, California–based bakery, led by Chef David Dodson, reimagines classic desserts as premium cookies. The line includes Strawberry Milkshake, Lemon Cheesecake, and Blueberry Pie flavors alongside traditional offerings like Oatmeal Raisin and Chocolate Chip. Dodson, who trained at the Culinary Institute of America and holds an MBA, positions the cookies between soft-baked and cookie-dough textures. Each batch uses preservative-free recipes made with butter and cage-free eggs.
Operator-Focused Product Mix "We want to spread joy the best way we know how, with simply the best cookies we can make," Dodson says. "We know how nostalgic cookies in particular can be for people of all ages, so it was really important to us to deliver that authentic, positive sense-memory from childhood of the perfect cookie but also have fun with the flavors. We're really proud of what we've been able to create using clean ingredients and never compromising on quality." The company supplies retail, foodservice, and wholesale buyers through multiple formats: clamshells, individually wrapped units, bulk packs, frozen dough, and custom collaborations with chefs and signature events.
Why It Matters
The award signals growing foodservice and retail interest in nostalgic, quality-focused baked goods made with recognizable ingredients. For operators seeking differentiated cookie offerings, the product line addresses both on-premise dessert programs and retail bakery cases.
