Frönen, a clean-label frozen dessert brand, has become the #3 non-dairy pint brand by sales volume in the natural channel, according to the company. The brand's pint line, in market since 2018, is formulated with minimal ingredients, no dairy, gluten, refined sugar, or additives, and uses natural sweeteners. The company says its ingredient-focused approach has attracted consumers prioritizing quality while also drawing shoppers who typically avoid the dessert aisle.

Novelty Bars Drive Growth Frönen launched its novelty bar lineup in February 2026 and now ranks #4 by novelty sales volume in the natural channel—and #2 in dollar velocity. Several bars have earned industry recognition, including the NFRA's 2026 Most Disruptive Product and the National Honey Board's Queen's Choice Award.

Sauce Launch Planned The company will debut two clean-label dessert sauce lines in October 2026 exclusively at Sprouts stores nationwide. Wönder Shell is positioned as the market's first clean hardening shell topping, available in Chocolate, Salted Caramel, and Maple Glaze. Wönder Drizzle will offer indulgent sauces in Dark Chocolate and Strawberry.

Why It Matters

Frönen's rapid rise in the natural channel reflects broader operator demand for simplified ingredient lists and naturally sweetened alternatives. The brand's dual success in pints and novelties—plus category-first innovation in hardening shell sauces—suggests growing consumer willingness to pay premium prices for transparent dessert formulations, particularly in health-focused retail environments.
