New Leadership Del Rey Avocado has appointed Josh "JT" Estebane as Sales Account Manager, tasking him with developing year-round programs for the Fallbrook, California-based avocado packer and shipper. Estebane brings 11 years of produce industry experience, including roles at the Los Angeles Wholesale Produce Market and positions in avocado sales with a California shipper and a leading wholesaler. He is a lifelong Southern California resident whose family has deep roots in produce. "I'm super excited to join Del Rey Avocado," Estebane said. "I look forward to learning from the Del Rey family, developing year-round avocado programs, and selling other California varieties like GEM and Lamb Hass."
Company Context Patrick Lucy, President and Owner of Del Rey Avocado, credited Estebane's background. "It is very rare that you can find someone with JT's success and experience in the avocado category. We are looking forward to the energy JT will bring to our customers, our growers, and Del Rey Avocado. He has a very exciting future in the produce industry, and we are thrilled it will be at Del Rey Avocado." Del Rey Avocado operates from its 1969-founded facility in San Diego County and handles California fruit grown from San Diego to San Luis Obispo County. The company manages both conventional and organic programs year-round and sources counter-season fruit from Mexico, Peru, Chile, and Colombia.
Why It Matters
Year-round avocado availability has become increasingly critical for retailers and foodservice operators as demand stabilizes beyond seasonal peaks. Staffing experienced account management in the avocado category signals continued investment in supply chain continuity among mid-sized packers.
