The SKU
Culture Pop Soda is rolling a limited-edition Sparkling Apple flavor into grocery retail on September 8, landing on shelves at Albertsons, Wegmans, Giant Food, H-E-B, Stop & Shop, Shaw's, Jewel-Osco, and Big Y — a distribution footprint that spans multiple top-10 regional banners and significant ACV in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Southeast. The SKU is simultaneously available for nationwide direct-to-consumer shipping via drinkculturepop.com and Amazon, giving the brand omnichannel presence during the fall reset window.
The can is packaged in a distinctive gold colorway intended to function as a shelf-navigation tool — a design choice that reflects the growing importance of seasonal limited-edition SKUs in driving incremental trial and end-cap placement in the better-for-you carbonated soft drink (CSD) segment. A coordinated "Refreshingly Crisp" fall campaign supports the launch across brand-owned channels.
Formulation & Positioning
Sparkling Apple is made with a blend of apple juices from concentrate and carries a live probiotic, consistent with the brand's full lineup. It contains no refined sugar, no stevia, and no artificial or high-intensity sweeteners — a clean-label positioning that aligns with accelerating demand for functional, low-sugar CSDs tracked in syndicated data from Circana and Nielsen. The flavor draws a direct line to founder Tom First's legacy: First co-founded Nantucket Nectars before launching Culture Pop in 2020, and apple was among Nantucket Nectars' most recognizable flavors.
"It's somewhere between a crisp apple and a sparkling cider: refreshing, not too sweet and full of apple flavor," said Tom First, Founder & CEO of Culture Pop Soda. "I think fall officially starts the minute you open a Culture Pop Sparkling Apple."
Brand Momentum
Culture Pop ranked No. 697 on the 2026 Inc. 5000 and is on track to surpass $25 million in annual revenue, according to the company — meaningful velocity signals for a brand still building TDP across conventional grocery. For category managers evaluating the functional CSD and better-for-you soda segment, Culture Pop competes in the same planogram adjacency as probiotic soda brands targeting health-oriented shoppers trading away from legacy CSD, private-label sparkling water, and kombucha crossovers.
Limited-edition seasonal innovation has become a critical lever for emerging brands to earn incremental display and promotional support from retailers without displacing core SKUs. A gold can in a sea of permanent inventory can anchor an end-cap or floor stack during high-traffic fall weeks, particularly in the natural and specialty channel where Culture Pop has existing brand equity. The brand's Whole30 Approved, certified non-GMO, and kosher certifications also support placement conversations in better-for-you and natural-specialty sections, a growing priority for grocery buyers managing dual mainstream and health-focused assortments.
